What a Crappy Week

Whew.  Where to begin.  Let's see.  Monday, Leyton began complaining that her stomach hurt.  She even told her teacher that it did.  Her teacher said she pooped at school, just a little, on Monday.  Tuesday she woke up with a runny nose and still said her stomach hurt, so I kept her home.  Wednesday and Thursday she went to school, but she didn't poop.  I went and bought her a stool softener at the commissary (I looked into a Japanese drug store and quickly gave up.  I couldn't read anything and didn't want to give her something to make her worse).  She tried to swallow the gel caps and gagged and threw them up -three times.  Thursday night she stopped eating.  Friday morning she just sat on the potty and cried.  She wouldn't get off because she said she was afraid she would poop herself.  I called and got her an appointment for Friday afternoon (first available).  But she was in such pain I loaded her and Ellis into the car and drove her to the base Emergency room.  By then she had to wear a diaper -though she couldn't poop, she was leaking.  They checked her out and ruled out an obstruction, and gave her a stool softener.  It was a long and horrible day for her and even a worse night.  After she woke up for the second time at midnight, I 'helped' her get some of the poop out.  Though this was not fun for either of us, she felt immediately better and gave me the first smile I'd seen in days.  She woke up again at 2:30am and I had to help her again.  Then she woke up at 5:30am and pooped on her own.  She was feeling better, though not 100% so I decided to go ahead and go to a birthday party on base.  They had fun but Leyton still wasn't herself.  Put them down for nap and she woke up to a very gross poopy diaper.  I let her sleep on the couch while I cleaned the upstairs bathroom and her sheets.  After nap she had another pant load that she couldn't control, but afterwards, she was 100%.  She slept great last night and is still pooping runny stool, but she can control it today.  I think tomorrow she will be back in her big girl panties again.

I am not sure what caused this little episode.  There has been no dramatic change in her diet.  She could have just gotten dehydrated.  Maybe she is stressed, but the only stressor I can think of is Ryan leaving, and that was weeks ago.  I do know I will pay more attention from now on and make sure she doesn't go more then two days without a bowel movement.

And then there's Ellis.  She really capitalized on her neglect this week.  I found her loading the washer -with toys, playing in the trashcan, climbing the stairs, and then she got to watch a lot of movies while her sister just laid on the couch.  And she has some kind of rash.  Started on her tummy, then the back of her neck, and now her throat and chest.  Doctor said it looks like some viral thing going around base.  It's itchy.  And she started with a  runny nose and cough yesterday.

I need a vacation.  Fortunately, Daddy will be home next weekend.  That is the only thing holding me together this week -is knowing that soon I will have help.  Also on a brighter note, the rainy season seems to be over.  It's sunny and warm and the bugs are EVERYWHERE.

I didn't take any pictures the first part of the week, but here are some starting Saturday.

The birthday party.  It was a Bubble Guppy theme, which both kids loved.  Leyton felt so bad, she didn't even finish her cupcake (don't worry though, I didn't let it go to waste).

Poor kid.  I feel so bad that I let her get so stopped up.  She has never had a problem with that before, so I just kept assuming she would eventually go.

For some reason these pictures are really funny to me

Bubble Guppy 'Molly' times two

E and her kooties.  Though contagious, LC and I don't have it.... yet....

Feeling much better, but looking puny from not eating for several days

A rough week, but everything is now back to normal
We are postponing Father's Day until Ryan is home.  But Happy Father's Day to all our sweet uncles, Poppy, Grampa, and Papa!
