Living it up in COLD Oregon

We left sunny San Diego on Sunday afternoon and safely landed in chilly Portland, OR that evening. We were hoping LC would do good during the flight and she did not disappoint. She did fantastic and didn't make a peep the entire flight. She played the whole time and seemed to have a blast. What a relief! Aunt Sonya, Uncle Ben, Cousins McKinley and Piper met us at the airport and we all headed to Burgerville to crush some Colossal burgers. Delicious!
Gramma and Grampa Campoamor arrived on Monday from Kentucky and our days have been filled with fun and playing. The cousins have been playing great together and we all have been enjoying each other's company. The weather has been a bit cold. We keep checking the weather back in San Diego and it has been in the mid-60's and, expected to be in the 70's for Christmas day. I think it is getting down to 25 tonight. brrr..
Here are some photos from the past few weeks:
Just had to put this one in because it is so funny. Here is the professional Santa photo that was taken of our little crybaby.

Bonjour!
Christmas gifts kept pouring into the house the week we left. Here is LC helping me put together her sweet new wagon from Gramma and Grampa C.
She even let me use her favorite new toy, a hammer.

Here is LC conducting a quality assurance inspection on the work I performed.
She loves the dual cup holders feature. One for her milk and one for her water.
Taking it out on its maiden voyage.
Here she is testing its durability and coasting abilities. PASS.
What a great gift.
Here she is playing on the airplane. Yeah for plane rides!

Playing on Cousin McKinley's car.
LC and Dad in the bouncy house at Sonya/Ben's church in Oregon.
Bouncin' so high!

Swinging with my Cousin McKinley in the park in 30 degree weather. Brrr!

Sliding down the slide at the park. Weeeeeeee..

What's all the fuss about?

In our last post, I mentioned LC hasn't had the best of weeks.  She's been sick and therefore not always in the best of moods.
That was just one of her many meltdowns.  Poor baby girl... instead of a nice and sympathetic Mommy, her  mom just snapped pictures, like this one:

She did have a few things to smile about, like Christmas gifts.  These came in the mail:
One contained this sweet horse, which she really liked... right up until it snorted at her.  Now she gives it a rather wide arc when she crawls by.  But she'll warm up to it, and love it soon.
The other box had a HOUSE!  It is awesome.  Thanks Uncle Jamie, Grammy, and Papa Greg!  We'll have to post pictures of the house later.  But for now, prepare yourself for the best Santa pictures you have ever seen!

HAHAHAHAHA!  I could barely hold the camera straight for laughing so hard.  She HATED Santa.  The crying was immediate and dramatically awesome.  What a cool back drop though.  And it was free! We may take her back tomorrow, just for fun.

She liked posing with her Daddy much better.

And she took a few steps in the grass.

Here are some smiles!

Looks like LC has had about enough of Christmas already.  She better regroup and come back strong because we fly to Oregon next Sunday to spend a week with her cousins, aunt and uncle, and grandparents.  Can she handle it?  I think she can!

Pictures of Leyton Smiling....

Because she ain't smiling now.  Baby girl has a cold and is therefore cranky and rather horrible most of the day.  I keep it real, I'll post those pictures later.  But for today, here are some pictures of the cutest kid I know.
Chillin with the grandparents on the swing

So proud of herself!

Thumbs up for standing by myself!

Early Christmas present from Poppy and BB - a chariot

Surprisingly she doesn't seem to mind the small fry helmet

Coronado's version of a 'snow mountain.'  It was real snow, but not a real mountain

My future ballerina (Lord help me!!!)

She pulled off all of her 'kid-friendly' ornaments in a matter of seconds

Woohoo!

Gasp!  Presents!

I can't wait for Christmas!

SMILE!

Here is a long lost video of baby Leyton.  She was 8 months old.  I'm not sure what was so funny, but I do know she is super cute!

Step By Step

We made it back to Cali in one piece and in the same clothes we left in, so all in all a great trip home.  LC did great on the flight back.  She slept in the car on the way to the airport and then did some hardcore playing on the plane.  We fed her a banana on take-off, which helped her ears equalize and she played in the floor, on the seats, in our laps, for several hours, before nursing to sleep for the last hour.  100% better than the trip out there.

In other news, Leyton took her first step the other day.  Her new thing is standing by herself, which delights her, and occasionally she will take a step or two.  Nothing I would call 'walking' just yet, but she is on her way.  She is also being horribly picky with her food, but her parents are letting her starve rather than feed her crap, so eventually she gets over it and will eat what we give her.

And it's 75 degrees out and we have our Christmas tree up.  Gotta love San Diego!

Here are a few more pictures from our Thanksgiving Vacation.

"I'm not eating that!"

We all enjoyed playing with Leyton's cousin, Chesney

It's called a cushaw

Leyton pushed this thing all around the house

Added bonus, Gramma and Grandpa came to visit from Kentucky!
