Summer is right around the corner so we've been making the most out of our days with emphasis on playing outside and enjoying the nice Japanese springtime weather. The girls are back in school, accept this week due to Golden Week, and work continues to filled with long and busy days. Even though we are staying busy, we are still managing to make the most of our last spring in Japan.

| Gymnastics is over but LC still enjoys ballet class on Thursdays. Usually parents are not allowed to watch the kids practice (distractions), but one day they let us come in for a mini performance. LC did fantastic and she is starting to get the hang of it all. |

| Shannon took a (much deserved) solo 3-day trip to Kyoto and Nara. While she was gone we spent most of the days playing and venturing out to new parks. We have always heard about Godzilla Park down near Yokosuka, so we decided to check it out. The walk up to the park was on a road that winded through flower gardens. |

| And at the top was Godzilla park. We had a picnic and then played all day. |

| They had amazing tree house style playground equipment that the girls loved. |
 |
| And then we caught the train and headed back down after a full day. |
 |
| After Godzilla Park we drove down to Glass beach. |
 |
| It was VERY hard for the girls to keep from getting in the water. They wanted to so bad but I forgot to bring an extra pair of clothes (rookie mistake). |

| It's called Glass Beach because there are little colored pebbles that are shiny and look like glass. |
 |
| Since its spring, all the festivals are getting underway. We even ran into Mari Sensei (LC's K3 teacher) at the Camp Zama festival. |

| We had a week-long competition on base for BADMAN week festivities. It is a week full of sports competitions and ends with a picnic and a ball. My squadron took 2nd in volleyball thanks for my tenacious hitting skills. |

| The picnic was fun, thanks to the bouncy houses. The girls sited the Koinobori (carp streamers) on the other side of the fence so we went over to take a picture. |

| And this weekend was the spring festival on Atsugi. Of course the first stop was at the bouncy houses. I was deployed during last years, but apparently they girls were scared to go on this dragon bouncy house last year. They had no problems this year and said it was "crazy fast." LC was very popular at the festival since she was wearing a flight suit. A ton of people wanted to take her picture (which she later said she was tired of hearing people saying they like her outfit and tired of people always wanting to take her photo -- its tough being a celebrity). |

| They were expecting over 100,000 people this year for the festival due to BADMAN (possibly) moving to Iwakuni. |
