A Day in the Life of a 10 Month Old Princess Pig Pen

Leyton Lee turned 10 months old last Monday.  Our little girl is getting so big!  She is absolutely the highlight of our life, which is a good thing, because she definitely runs the show.  Here is what a 'typical' day is like for the Campoamor's:

5:10AM - Mommy's alarm goes off, she gets up and nurses Leyton, who goes right back to sleep.  Mommy heads to the gym while Daddy 'watches' the baby.  They are generally both still sleeping when Mommy gets home a little after 7.  Mommy walks the dog, cleans, and eats breakfast.
8:00AM - Leyton wakes up, gets a diaper change and is eating breakfast by around 8:30.  Meals are generally some sweet potato, avocado, banana, and/or some organic all-natural baby food that Mommy bought her at Target to spice things up and introduce her to new things (like rutabaga, pumpkin, spinach, etc) plus Mums Mums and Cheerios.
9- 11:30AM -Playtime.  Either at the house or the library or the park.  New this week- pulling up on stuff.  Previously she would only pull up to her knees, but the other day we look over and she is standing!  Now we have even more to watch out for -like pulling things down onto her head.
11:30AM -Lunch
Noon - Nursing and a nap.  Her only nap of the day. She will sleep anywhere from 1 to 2.5 hours.
3:00PM - Snack and then playtime
5:30PM - Nurse
6:00PM - Everyone eats dinner
7:00PM - We all walk the dog
7:30PM - Bath.  She gets one everyday now because she gets so dirty from crawling and feeding herself
7:45PM - Storytime with Daddy
8:00PM - Nursing and bedtime.  Mommy and Daddy hit the sack around 9.

So that's about it.  Daddy's schedule changes daily, depending on when he flys.  And none of it is set in stone.  You need to leave room for things like swimming!

Especially with this heat wave... mid 80s! Yikes!

And looking fabulous! (check out the arm muscles on this kid!  Nothing tones better than crawling)

Or not...

Hope you enjoyed the glimpse into the Campoamor life.  Come visit so we can show you around!

Getting settled... again

We have been busy Camper's this past week!  We moved into our new house last Saturday and have spent the week unpacking and getting used to the new digs.  So far we love it!  It's an older house with some 'character' of course (noisy water heater which we thought was a squirrel or ghost, popping cedar ceilings, dangerous light fixtures), but nothing we can't learn to live with.  We are on a new part of the 'island' so we have enjoyed exploring what all this end of Coronado is about.  Sasha LOVES being close to the big park and Mommy loves being closer to the gym (5 more minutes of sleep in the morning!).  One thing we could live without are the fireworks they shoot off after the Padres win a game.  Luckily they suck, so that doesn't happen too often.  Fireworks at 9:45PM are pretty, but a bit loud when there is a sleepy kiddo in the house.
Speaking of kiddos, let's get on with the real reason y'all check this blog: Miss Leyton Campoamor.  A few days ago we visited the doctor for Leyton's 9.5 month check-up.  She weighed in at 17 lbs and 12 oz, which puts her at the 25th percentile and she was 29.5 inches tall (90th percentile), which means she is as tall as most 12 month olds.  That would explain why Mommy had to go buy her 12 month old jammies - the 9 months were cramping the toes.  Apparently 12 month PJs are hard to come by, too.  The only selection at the NEX where pink with ballerina slippers and pink with ballerinas on ponies.  Not that there is anything wrong with ballerinas, but that shouldn't be the ONLY option.  But it was, so that is what she sleeps in now.  So pretty!  Enjoy the pics of the pretty princess - we will post pics of the house once we finally get it presentable.

Here she is packing - so helpful!

Playing her piano.  She has finally figured out how to get down from standing.  For awhile, we could stand her up there and she would stay put because she was stuck standing.  Great trick while it lasted!

Playing peek-a-boo!

waving bye-bye.  She also gives kisses to her books and animals, VERY SWEET!

Showing off the calluses on her little toes.  She refuses to keep socks on, so I guess she'll just have to tough it out.

More on the hand.  And PLENTY of dirt!

We tried to snap a few pics in the park near our house:None of them turned out great.

Ooh well.  We can't expect her to take great pictures ALL the  time!

And Here We Goooo!

To say that it has been a busy few weeks would be an understatement.  Between visits with grandparents, packing and moving, and CRAWLING, we've had our hands full.  That's right, crawling all over the place.  Parents had a crash course in baby proofing.  She gets along great now, even though she keeps her right leg tucked underneath her while she crawls.  She has already worn little blisters on her toes, so now she has to wear pants and socks all day.  She loves to case Panda and Sasha, but they are not as thrilled.  Sasha growled at her -letting her know to leave sleeping dogs alone. So they aren't allowed to play together anymore.  Sasha is learning to move when she sees Leyton coming, and we will try and teach Leyton that Sasha isn't a toy.
We had a wonderful visit with Poppy and BB, showing them just a taste of what San Diego has to offer, but of course, Miss Leyton Lee was the star of the show.  Check out some pictures from their visit:  http://thebrownsvacations.shutterfly.com/pictures

LC was barely crawling when Poppy and BB were here, but now she is all over the place and into everything.

On top of that, she has taken it upon herself to cut back to just one nap a day.  So she sleeps from 8 to 8, then down again from noon to EXACTLY 1:30 (I don't wake her up, but she always wakes up right at 1:30).  That leaves very little free time for packing and moving, but we are busy with that too.

Our spoiled little girl got ANOTHER box from Grammy and Papa - check out her treasures!

We did a little mini-photo shoot to show off one of the outfits, complete with a homemade handband from Aunt Sonya!

Our little chipmunk has 6 teeth!

Watch out world...

here I come!
