Thanksgiving in Disney!

I posted this the other day but a lot of the pics didn't come over. So I'm putting it up again with all the photos I originally wanted to post. Enjoy!


Ryan here.... and it is so nice to be back home!  We decided to head to Tokyo Disney for this years Thanksgiving. We didn't really know if it was going to be a smart move because of the unknowns of the weather and the crowds but it turned out to be a good decision.

Our hotel was pretty nice. It had two twin beds that were pushed together and adequate space. LC immediately claimed one of the twin beds which meant Shannon had the other and I got the floor. The floor ended up begin the most comfortable spot so Shannon claimed the floor the final two nights and I was stuck sleeping with a squirmy kid. E slept comfortably in her pack-n-play that we brought along. The girls were so pooped after walking around the parks all day and not naps that they slept like champs all 3 nights. Here is LC doing some map study for the next day's travels while E rests up. 

We took the monorail to and from the parks. The monorail station was right across the street from the hotel we stayed at. Pretty convenient.

Waiting in line to get into Tokyo Disneyland. We got there right at 9am when it opened. The weather this day was absolutely phenomenal. The girls picked frozen gear to wear. 

Tokyo Disney land was decorated nicely for Christmas. And the decorations actually said, "Merry Christmas."

We obviously had to take the tour inside the castle to see where Cinderella lives. LC is standing next to her glass slipper.

The first ride we did in Disneyland was Dumbo!

LC named her horse Tinkerbell Pony. 

We caught a little of the parade and was lucky enough to see the Princess float. 

After the parade it was ice cream time! 

Because the Japanese don't really care about safety for children, we were able to all go on the race cars.

LC even got to drive.

The next day we went to Disney Sea. It is just another Disney park but has a slight nautical theme. This park was where Ariel, Jasmine, and Toy Story were located, 

The middle of the park was a lake. That is the tower of terror there in the distance.  The first ride we rode on was the "10,000 leagues under the sea." They shoved you in a little bubble and simulated you were underwater. It was fairly loud and dark and both girls were absolutely terrified. Every ride after that LC would ask if it was a scary ride. 

The Ariel Lagoon section was by far our favorite. They had a really cool Ariel Castle and a lot of fun rides and play areas for kids. And all the lines were very short (5-10 min). As you can see, LC was super excited! 

This is the Scuttle's Scooters. We rode these a few times.

Ariels lagoon was inside Ariels castle. This was where all the kids rides and play areas were. This is the Ariel tea cups. 

I don't remember what ride this was but E would cling on to you during the ride. She seemed to like it but just hung on tight. 

This was the Jumping Jellyfish ride in Ariel's lagoon. 

Ariel's castle was actually really cool looking. 

This was the carousel in Jasmine's castle. LC immediately gravitated to the Genie.

E stuck with the traditional horse. 

LC thought Genie spitting water was the funniest thing and talked about it for the next few days.

The only characters LC wanted to wait in line for (the lines were generally long for all the characters) was Stitch and Minnie Mouse. E was terrified of the characters so we had to keep a one or two person buffer. 

Minnie Mouse loved LC's dress and they had an instant connection. LC still wasn't impressed so she just picked her nose. 

The boats were well liked as well. 

Overall we had a great time. It was good to get away from the house and the girls did really good. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving as well!
