12 Month Well-Baby Check

Leyton had her 12 month visit with the pediatrician yesterday.  Poor little pin cushion!  She got 4 shots, plus a PPD in the arm and a finger stick.  To say she was less than thrilled about that is an understatement.  But other than the initial tears, she seems fine.  Our little girl is now 20 pounds, 2 ounces (30%ile) and 31 inches tall (90%ile)!  Everything looked great, except her blood iron levels where borderline low.  The doctor wants us to try and get it up via diet for the next month.  So lots of meat (which she hates) and fortified cereals (which Mommy hates).  And in other food news, we addressed her increasingly picky eating habits, and the doctor said a little 'tough love' is in order.  So no more puffs and Mum-Mums.  She is only to eat what we offer her, and if she doesn't then she will just be hungry (that should be fun...).  The last change is milk in her sippy instead of water.  This is the only Leyton-approved change - she loves milk and already has the sign language down for it.

In other very exciting news, Leyton has a new cousin!  Piper Joshlyn Howard was born at 8:08AM this morning (11/11/11.... way to hold out for the cool birthday Pipes!).  Mommy and baby are doing good!  Can't wait to meet her at Christmas!

Finally, here are some pictures of a pretty typical Leyton day.

Still loves her car... rarely 'drives' it correctly

GASP! Happy Halloween!

Leyton's new 'thing' is to gasp at everything.  When she sees something, she will do a quick inhale, point and gasp!  It is super cute and silly.  Just like our little girl.
Though this wasn't her first Halloween, Leyton didn't do much Trick-or-treating last year -she was only 9 days old afterall.  But this year she went all out!
Gasp!  Mommy just realized her wings were upside down.

Gasp!  Our first candy stop.

Gasp!  Look at all the Trick-or-Treaters!

Gasp!  The guy from Saw works in Real Estate.

Gasp!  There's something stuck to my head!

Gasp!  A beautiful butterfly!

Gasp!  Daddy's trying to steal my loot!

Gasp!  Score!

Gasp!  What are Snickers?

Gasp!  I can't get it open...

Gasp!  I'm not sharing.

Gasp!  They are moving in on my candy!

Gasp!  Okay, y'all can share this piece.  I don't want it... no chocolate.

Gasp!  YUMMMY!

Gasp!  I LOVE SNICKERS!

Gasp!  You didn't really think my parents would let me eat a Snickers, did you?

Gasp!  Well, they wouldn't let me on purpose, but I have my ways!

Gasp!  Sugar hangover.  (If you are wondering where her other shoe is, so am I.  As of post-time, it is still MIA!)

Hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween.
