LC in the house

Hello Blog Nation.  LC again.  Just catching y'all up on what I've been up to lately.  I am still not crawling, but I can get around well enough by rolling.  When I'm in my crib or on the parent's bed, I'll smash my face into the mattress and push myself around with my butt in the air.  I've given this a few test runs on my play mat but with little success.  It may be made of foam, but that thing isn't soft enough for sliding around on one's face.

Friday night we had some friends over, and I got to practice my hostessing skills.  Here I am welcoming the guests.

Chatting it up, being social.  This is my friend Storm.  He's a little cutie.  His older brother, Ryder, was kind enough to show Mommy and Daddy all they had to do to baby proof the house.  They have a LOT to do :-)

I got another package in the mail.  This one was from my BB and Poppy.  It was filled with goodies from their recent trip to Norway.  I really like the pull train.

But I like the string for the train the most.  Mommy doesn't let me play with it by myself though - something about a choking hazard.

This is my dog Sasha.  She is very smart.  I like to share my food with her.  She's already figured out the best place to rest during meal times.

Tuesday was Flag Day, and they were handing out flags at the Commissary.  Mom tried to get some good shots of me with the flag. 

But I thought it would be better to chew on it instead.

That's still patriotic, right?

I've got one last thing to show you before I go:

Look closely and you can see the makings of my top two teeth.  I am putting them to good use - biting EVERYTHING I can get into my mouth.  Better get a roll on that baby proofing Mom and Dad!

Fun and Games!

Hello Everyone!  Leyton here.  Just updating my blog status and letting you know what's new this week.  First, I have sprouted a couple of new teeth!  Now I have a couple of pearly whites on the top row to match my bottom two.  I also had my first dairy product this week - yogurt.  It makes me have a funny face -which my parent's find hilarious, especially Daddy.  I don't think it's very funny.

I also got a box of goodies from my Gramma and Grandpa Campoamor.  Thanks!!  I can't wait to wear my new clothes and the book is awesome.  You know how I love books - and Mommy and Daddy like new books too (something new to memorize).  Speaking of Mommy and Daddy - I am not quite up to saying that yet - but I have added 'Da' to my vocabulary, so when I decided to string two together for the official 'Dada,' you'll be the first to know.  Until then, be assured I have my own special ways of getting my point across when I need or want something ;-)

Mommy bought me a new playmat.  Apparently she couldn't stand me hitting my head on the floor -probably afraid I'd leave a dent in the hardwood.  

So this is my new favorite place to play.

This is my purse.  Mommy puts things in there and I like to fish them out.  I think originally Grammy got me this bag to hold my bottles.  Hahahaha - like I would drink from a bottle...  Nice try Grammy.

Wednesday afternoon, we decided to take a trip to Balboa Park.  It was a lovely afternoon and I was excited for the old-fashioned carousel and train.  Unfortunately, neither were operating that day, so we just walked around the beautiful buildings and grounds.

We snapped these in the Museum of Photographic Art.  I didn't know the stranger taking this picture, so I didn't smile at him.

After the museums, I decided to spend a little time soaking up some sun.

Pt Loma

We made a trek up to Point Loma yesterday. We caught some breathtaking views and got a little hike in. LC seems to really enjoy the Mommy and Daddy Taxi (Baby Bjorn) and seems to appreciate the outdoors.

Correction, Food and Take a Hike!

A few of you have expressed how impressed you are with the workout that Ryan posted on Monday - particularly that I could do 100 pull-ups.  I would be rather impressed with myself too, if I had actually done them.  I did a MODIFIED workout.  I've been doing Crossfit for one month, and I really enjoy it.  It is always challenging and I can rarely do the workout as prescribed -mostly because they are prescribed with military, police, and firemen in mind (and because I am still shamefully out of shape, which I partly blame on my kid).  But I do what I can, and the workout can always be modified.  So here is what I ACTUALLY did Monday - 1 mile run, 100 jumping pull-ups (where I stand on a box and jump up until my chin is over the bar -easy), 200 push-ups on my knees (which where still very difficult for me and I am still a little sore from), 300 squats (no modification here, those I did well), and finally another 1 mile run.  I felt the need to explain what I did, because there really where men and women there who did the workout as prescribed -all that wearing a 20# vest!  Maybe next year....

Leyton is still eating well.  Mostly sweet potatoes and peas.  Once she finishes the pureed stuff, we will start with some finger foods.

We took advantage of the BEAUTIFUL weather (sunny and 70 EVERYday, seriously!), to visit Torrey Pines State Park.  The views where amazing and Leyton did great.

We had to keep an eye out for rattlesnakes.

We didn't see any snakes, just a couple of lizards, some seals, and this squirrel.

Which was VERY tame and came right up to us.

I think this is supposed to be a picture of the seals (not to be confused with Navy SEALS, which we see all the time swimming, running, jumping out of planes, drinking Starbucks...).
